I am Valéria Szilágyi, an English–Hungarian major and the founder of Kőbányai Nyelvsuli.
I have been teaching for nearly thirty years, and I have prepared countless students for successful language exams and final exams. Languages and teaching are my passion.”

I hold a master’s degree, which I earned with distinction at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary.
I have taught all age groups over the past nearly thirty years, and for the last ten years I have mainly worked as a sole proprietor — teaching in language schools as well as privately, both online and in person.

I work as an examiner at the LanguageCert, Euroexam, TELC and ECL examination centres, and I regularly prepare students for Cambridge exams as well.
For many years, I have also been conducting advanced-level final exams, marking written papers and serving as an exam board chair — which means I have a thorough understanding of all requirements, expectations and assessment criteria.

I lived in English-speaking countries for five years (the USA and the United Kingdom), where I worked as an interpreter and administrator.
I also enjoy teaching Hungarian as a foreign language, using English (and with my colleagues, German) as the contact language.
It is important to me to help students break through their barriers — whether it’s improving speaking skills, building language confidence or organising their grammar knowledge.

“I am Noémi Pénzes, an English teacher and translator.
With my international experience and business English skills, I help both students and corporate clients achieve successful exam results and confident language use.”

I studied at the Department of English Language and Literature at Kodolányi János University, where I also completed a translator training programme.
In addition, I earned my degree in International Studies with a specialisation in diplomacy at Corvinus University of Budapest, where I took several courses taught in English.

During my university years, I was already tutoring, but after graduating I made a short detour:
I completed an internship at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, where I worked in an international team.
After that, I worked in customer service in a British–American–Australian team, and later I was a market research assistant at Dealogic Hungary Ltd., working in a British team.

With all this business English experience, I was fully prepared to start teaching full-time — and I have been doing so with dedication ever since.
By now, I have supported many students in successfully passing their final exams and language exams; in addition, I have helped employees of major companies develop their professional language skills — for example at Erste Bank and Deutsche Telekom.

I hope we will meet soon and achieve new successes together!

“I am Gábor Kalcsics, a German teacher.
I have been teaching German, English and Hungarian to learners of various age groups for more than thirty years. For me, the student’s goals and progress are always at the centre of my work.”

I earned my German language teaching degree at ELTE, and I have been involved in language education for more than thirty years: I have taught German, English and Hungarian to learners of different age groups and language backgrounds — both in Hungary and in international settings.
In my work, the student is always at the centre: I make an effort to understand my students’ goals, habits and challenges so that we can create a truly personalised language-learning path.

My lessons are varied, enjoyable and practical.
I don’t treat language learning as “studying the textbook,” but as a tool: the goal is for you to be able to use the language confidently and communicate with ease.
I focus on developing skills and improving speaking, while making sure that the grammatical foundations are built securely.

If you get stuck in your studies or need new motivation, you can count on me — I can help anyone get out of a slump.

If you want to learn to communicate in German, if you’re ready to get comfortable with the language and understand a different culture, then you’re in the right place.
From my experience, there is no such thing as “lack of language talent” — you just need the right method.
That’s where I help: I guide you through the process and support you all the way.
From the very first lesson, you’ll start speaking German — in an enjoyable, safe and encouraging environment.

I look forward to welcoming you to my classes!
